2014 Reading Challenges!

I wanted to sign up for some challenges for 2014.  I didn't have great luck with challenges last year.  Since I just started blogging last February, I didn't really know much about them and I only signed up for one (The Debut Authors Challenge).  But, pretty early on I won one of the giveaways and never did receive my prize and I signed up for two debut ARC tours through the challenge site and never got those books either - so I kind of lost my enthusiasm for the challenge at that point and gave up.

But tomorrow starts another year and I'm looking at it as a clean slate!  Hopefully I'll have more luck with my challenges this year!  In fact, I'm entering a bunch of them because, well, why not?  So here's the ones I've signed up for so far:

Hosted by: The Mad Reviewer
Goal: Mad Reviewer (104 books)

Goal: 50 Books

2014netgalleychallenge
Hosted by: Ariel Avalon
Goal:

Goal: Gold (7-11 Series)

Hosted by: Fiktshun and Phantasmic Reads
Goal: Adept (40+ books)

Hosted by: Blog of Erised
Goal: Leader (19+ books)

Hosted by: Bookish
Goal: Married With Children (50+ books)

Hosted by: Falling for YA
Goal: Bronze (10 books) - though I might try for Silver (25 books)

I'm really looking forward to an awesome year of reading!!

That's a lot of challenges. I hope you succeed in all and have an awesome book year in 2014 :) Personally, I'm going to stick with GR lol. I'm not too good at challenges. Maybe I'll try and squeeze in more of a wide variety of books next year.

I know - this is a bit ambitious! But I can use the same books for some of these challenges, so I figured why not go for it? :-)
Yay for challenges!! That kinda sucks about your first experience with them though :-( I just started blogging in September so this is my first time around with doing challenges and I'm hoping to be able to do well! Good luck to you!

Yeah, it was kind of hard to stay excited about the challenge when they didn't follow through on things - I still read lots of great debut authors' books, though! Hopefully this year will work out better!
Wow, you're way more ambitious than I am! I'm only signed up for one challenge (my own). I hate to blatantly self-promote but if you're doing all those challenges, you might as well have a go at mine. It's called The Mad Reviewer Reading & Reviewing Challenge and you don't have to do anything special for it. You just sign up for a goal of [x] many reviews on one of the four levels and if you reach it you're entered in a draw for bookish prizes. It's really easy to do seeing as you already review so many books.

If you want more information, it's the post linked to below.

Self-promote away!! I'm happy to share the fun! You're right - I may be totally overdoing it, but it's fun to do challenges and a lot of these overlap. We'll see if I've driven myself crazy by March though. I think I WILL sign up for one more, though - what the heck! I'll hop on over now to check it out! :-)
Thanks so much for signing up! I really do appreciate it. I also appreciate the free publicity on your post. The more the merrier, after all! If you think any of your book blogger friends would like the challenge as well I'd be so grateful if you could recommend it to them. I need all the publicity I can get. :)

Sure - I'm happy to help spread the word! :-)
I hope you'll be able to accomplish these all. Like Mari I will just stick with the goodreads reading challenge. My goal is to read 40 books of which at least 5 are classics.

Happy New Year and best wishes with all of the challenges, as well as meeting your goals for the New Year.
