Top Ten Books I HAVE to Read!

Today's Top Ten Tuesday is:

Top Ten Books People Have Been Telling Me I MUST Read

  1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - Okay, so I've gotten past the first step. I now own this book (I got it from PaperbackSwap not too long ago). I have heard so much raving about this book - and now there's even a movie. I know I need to read it! I will - I promise.
  2. The Giver by Lois Lowry - I could practically copy word for word what I just wrote about The Book Thief here (even the part about just getting it from PaperbackSwap!). I honestly don't know how I've gone so long without reading these books. It's just worked out that way somehow.
  3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - I think this is the classic that I see mentioned most often on people's blogs and I have yet to read it. At least I think so. I feel like I should have read this one in high school, but if I did, I don't remember it so ... Anyway, I just recently signed up for a blog tour for Finding Mr. Darcy: High School Edition mostly so that I would be motivated to read Pride and Prejudice first.  So this one will be read soon!
  4. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo - I've seen this book everywhere and it looks like the type of book I'd love.  But somehow I just haven't picked it up yet. Someday ...
  5. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - This is another one that I see mentioned ALL THE TIME. For some reason, it just hasn't really ever appealed to me, but I think I'm being slowly won over. Eventually, I'm sure I'll read this one.
  6. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - Everyone raves about this series. The line at BEA for Maas' latest book must have been two miles long and I think I was the only one who wasn't in it. I know I'll love this series, but I just haven't gotten to it yet.  But I will!
  7. The rest of the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer - I finally got around to reading Cinder, but I haven't read the rest of the books in this series yet.  I loved Cinder, though, so I'm definitely planning on catching up!
  8. The rest of the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare - Again, I finally started this series a couple of months ago, but I haven't gotten past City of Bones. I really enjoyed it, but there are just so many books to read!!
  9. Anything by Rainbow Rowell - I recently read my first Rainbow Rowell book - Landline - and loved it!  But there are so many other books that I still haven't read, and they all seem to be almost universally loved. I can't decide which one to read next. Suggestions?
  10. Anything by Maggie Stiefvater - I have no idea why I haven't read anything by Stiefvater yet. Her books are right up my alley and people seem to absolutely love them. Soon. Very soon.
