The 2013 Books I'm Sad I Missed

Day 2: 2013 Books I'm Sad I Missed

I'm joining in on the New Year's Challenge, which is being hosted over at Parajunkee! Each day, we'll have a new post.  Today is all about the books from 2013 that I'm sorry I missed.  Of course, missed isn't exactly an accurate term here - I'm still planning on reading all these!
Oh, there are so many more!!  So many books, so little time!  I just can't handle it!!!

I read The Golem and the Jinni during the last week of December and it turned out to be one of my all time favorite books! It's lovely - I hope you like it :)

I'm looking forward to UnSouled and These Broken Stars too!

I actually even went to a book signing and met Wecker (and heard about her process for writing the book) and I still haven't read it yet. :-( This one has to be at the top of my To-Read list!!
I'm still planning on reading mine too - only later :).

I will have to look a couple of these books up, but Leila Sales...I'm sold already. It's amazing how this book can be found on lists compiled by so many different types of readers. Maybe it says something about the number of once-bullied or unpopular individuals.

Yes, I read a lot of paranormal and fantasy books, but I love to throw an occasional contemporary in too - and Sales' book has just been raved about, so it definitely caught my attention!
I didn't really like Gameboard of the Gods as much as her Vampire Academy series. That might have been because my Netgalley copy got screwed up.

The Summer I Became a Nerd was fluffy, so it's a good read between dark and depressing books.

Most people really enjoy Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. The writing style is really fluid and descriptive, even though the characters aren't that likeable.

If you liked the previous books in the series, Origin is great.

These Broken Stars was completely brilliant.

I just won These Broken Stars in a giveaway (where I got to choose any book), so I'm very excited to read it!! I've heard mixed reviews on Gameboard of the Gods, but I still really want to read it!
Afterlife Academy is the only one of those I got read. It was my first Jaimie Admans book, and I really enjoyed it. She sent me North Pole Reform School, so it's on my TBR list.

I really thought that North Pole Reform School was a fun read and I actually ended up emailing back and forth with the author a bit after I read it. She actually took some of my constructive criticisms to heart and made a few changes to the book - that's one of the awesome things about working with self-published authors. So, I'm really looking forward to reading some of her other books - Afterlife Academy is the one that stuck out to me most.
That's awesome! I saw her make a reference to that - can't recall if it was something she said to me personally or that I'd read. She contacted me after I put up a review for Afterlife Academy. You're so right about indi authors! That's definitely one of the things I love about being a book blogger!

I've never read an Armentrout book. I think I probably should some day since she's so popular. Thanks for stopping by!

I actually wasn't crazy about Obsidian (unlike most everyone else), but I kept reading the series anyway since I'd heard so many good things - and by book #3 I was hooked! :-)
I just finished Obsidian (kinda late I know XD) and I enjoyed it. I will continue this series!
Never Fade is so amaziiiiing, go read it!!
I just finished These Broken Stars few days ago, really love it, hope you will love it too! Glad you chose it on a giveaway :D

I don't know why I haven't read Never Fade yet - I absolutely loved the first book in the series. Now I'm kind of at that point where I wonder if it would make more sense to wait for the next book and read them both at once. I'll have to go and see how long it will be before book #3 comes out.

Can't wait to read These Broken Stars - it's at the top of my To-Read list!
