Complexity excerpt:

Liliana continued on her rant about her mom's latest control tactics, but I wasn't listening anymore. Across the room, a boy with messy blond hair was casually leaning against the wall of the cafeteria, gripping the straps of his backpack and talking to the high school chemistry teacher. He caught me staring at him and a corner of his mouth quirked up. I turned away, cheeks flaming.
“Who’s that?” Sara asked.
“I have no idea,” I said. “He looks like he loves himself too much.”
“He kind of does, doesn’t he?” Sara clicked shut the lid of her lunchbox. “Don’t look, but he’s totally checking you out right now.”
And of course I looked. He was still there, staring with that smile. Great. Yet another guy I’d probably have to reject.
“Not that he’d have a chance with the untouchable Olivia Clark,” Liam Goshen said from a few seats down.
I pretended I didn’t hear him and turned to Liliana to change the subject. “Do you think I’ve mastered my audition piece enough to get better than fourth chair this year?” Talking about my flutist abilities was better than listening to Liam go off on me for rejecting him last spring. Him and about five other guys. It wasn’t like he wasn’t hot. He totally was. But I didn’t date.
“Olivia, all you’ve done all summer is play your flute. I’m pretty sure you’re first chair material now,” Liliana assured me.
“You think so?”
“Sure.”
I smiled, and as I did, my eyes slid of their own accord to where the blond boy was still standing. He met my eye again and turned and slipped from the room.

Honestly, I am not sure...I read so much, and have so many favorites...its hard to pick just one.

I know - I always hate questions that ask my favorite book - or even favorite from a certain genre. I can't pick just one!
NOTE FOR GIVEAWAY - Jessica wrote this comment and I had to delete it because it caused a defect in my commenting system. I'm adding it back in here so that you will see it if she wins the giveaway!

Not sure what my favorite YA contemporary book is .. I read a lot of YA but contemporary .. Not really even sure what it is .. Googling .. Lol all I know is that no matter the genre .. I love all kinds of books and I will read anything they crosses my path !

I haven't read any yet, but I heard Landline by Rainbow rowell is good.

None, really? I never used to read contemporary, but since I've been blogging I've been finding lots of them to love. Yes, Landline was excellent! Another good one to try (if you're interested in looking) is Anna and the French Kiss. It's pretty much universally loved. :-) (Okay, that's obviously not true, but it is VERY popular).
Well honestly I just started on line a few months ago and ran into all you great book bloggers. I always loved to read as a child and read quite a few books in between, I have read the harry potter series. I just finished the boulton quest series and posted reviews for them on amazon and goodreads for mother and daughter reviews. Now I am reading an arc of purr-fect mating by sheryl winters and will write a review for someone else. I just joined a book club and read All Our Yesterdays by Christin Terrill and I am reading Don't Breath a Word by Jennifer McMahon right now. Also I came across a book I liked very much Daughter of Darkness by V.C.Andrews and will read Daughter of light by V.C.Andrews soon. So you see I'm just getting started. I would like to thank you and others for all the great inspiration. Thank you

That's wonderful! I love being able to spread the word about great books and I love to hear that people are finding new books to love on my blog. Did you enjoy All Our Yesterdays? That one's a favorite of mine! I also read some V.C. Andrews many years ago and loved the books I read. I haven't read Daughter of Darkness, though - I'll have to check that one out!
There are too many, it's hard to choose. I've read a lot of YA novels over the years...
My recent post Fantastic Decodelire Decobags Giveaway!!!
There's a lot to choose from but my current fave would probably be Doubt: Among Us by Anne-Rae Vasquez
