Top Ten Tuesday - Favorite Covers

One of the blogs that I follow had a fun meme today that really caught my attention.  It's called Top Ten Tuesday and each week we list a new book-related top ten list.  This week's list is Top Ten Favorite Book Covers (of books that you've read).

Okay, so we all know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I totally do.  I mean, I LOVE a gorgeous (or just really striking) book cover and the cover illustration is often what grabs my attention enough to pick up a book and read about it.  So, here are my 10 favorites (from looking at my Read list on Goodreads).  If you click on the cover, you will be brought to the book's page on Goodreads.

Splintered (Splintered, #1)  Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)  The Host (The Host, #1)  Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1)  UnWholly (Unwind, #2)   Shaman's Crossing (Soldier Son, #1)   The Magician King (The Magicians, #2)  The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)  The Mind Readers (The Mind Readers, #1)  The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)

  2. The UNWHOLLY cover creeps me out big time. I haven't seen that version of THE MAGICIAN KING yet. That's fantastic!

  6. Great choices! I especially love THE MAGICIAN KING and THE MIND READERS ones. And I agree on UNWHOLLY -- it's a creepy cover, but it represents the book perfectly.

  7. Hey I saw that you liked the cover to that one book I posted, "Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland." I'm not sure if you would see my reply to your comment but I wanted to give you the link to check out the cover to the second book in that series, "Fifty Shades of Alice Through The Looking Glass." It's just as pretty and just as hilarious.

    1. I know - I actually think that the new cover is kind of cool looking and fits the story really well. If I had never seen the first cover, I probably would have liked it. But the first one was AMAZING and the new cover just doesn't live up!

  10. I love that you put Percy Jackson on here (:
I loved discovering his book at a school scholastic fair albeit it wasn't my own but it caught my eye really quickly and I've never regretted picking it up.
I still have yet to read UnWholly. Cripes that cover gets cooler every time I see it!

    1. I had to go back and re-read my Goodreads reviews of these - it's been so long since I read them (definitely pre-blog). I did really enjoy The Mind Readers. I liked the first book better than the second, though and haven't read the third yet - Need to do that!

Here's a link to my Goodreads reviews if you want to check them out -
